Cylinder Head Gasket Leak Tester for Measuring CO2 Content in Cooling System
The tester is designed to eliminate suspicion of cylinder head gasket or head damage in combustion engine vehicles with gasoline, diesel, and LPG engines cooled by liquid. If the gasket is leaking and CO2 enters the cooling system, the reactive fluid changes color to yellow or green. The device operates by measuring CO2 concentration – increased concentration causes the reactive fluid to react and change color.
Set includes:
– CO2 reactive fluid 60 ml (enough for 30 tests)
– Universal conical adapter 25mm-55mm
– Measuring tube
– Black measuring adapter (25mm-55mm) allows checking six times more different coolant filler diameters than testers with one white adapter. Suitable for passenger cars, trucks, tractors, excavators, motorcycles, forklifts.
The adapter is made of a special rubber mix resistant to high temperatures and sufficiently soft to fit tightly to the filler and tester tube, ensuring 100% tightness during the test.
Test instructions:
Fill the device with reactive fluid to the level between chambers (approx. 2 ml). Connect the tester to the expansion tank or radiator opening. Start the engine, increase to higher RPM for greater combustion pressure. Leave the engine at slightly elevated RPM and observe the reactive fluid behavior.
Color change of reactive fluid to yellow or green within minutes indicates a damaged cylinder head gasket or head.
After tests, carefully remove the device.
Test results:
Color change from blue to green in diesel engine – indicates gasket or head damage.
Color change from blue to yellow in gasoline/LPG engine – indicates gasket or head damage.
Blue reactive fluid – no CO2 detected in the system.
Safety information:
During the test, exercise extra caution when opening the radiator cap on a hot engine and during the test – risk of burns!
Do not allow coolant to mix with reactive fluid – test may be invalid!
Keep out of reach of children, wash hands thoroughly after testing!
