Game Weather Machine (PL)
Weather Machine is an advanced board game designed by Vital Lacerda (On Mars, Kanban EV), where players take on the roles of scientists trying to improve the weather generator created by the brilliant Professor Lativ. The generator was supposed to maintain perfect weather worldwide – farms sometimes need rain, and resorts should have constant sunshine. However, it turned out to be imperfect – its operation disrupts weather elsewhere. Scientists conduct experiments and research, publish papers to improve the machine, and maybe even win a Nobel Prize. Like previous games by Vital Lacerda and Ian O’Toole, this one features artistic artwork, a large colorful board, dozens of custom robot meeples, and wooden book tokens replacing cardboard ones.
Your Workshops
Gameplay consists of rounds divided into 3 phases: Player Turn, Weather Generator Activation, and Round End. The Workshop (player board) is your command center with several main areas. In the Workshop on the right, you store Robots and Chemicals and build new prototypes using Machine Parts. The central tracks like Research, Development, and Science are your resources allowing specific actions.
Research Site
The game board has 4 main Locations offering many actions. In the Supply area, you can build new Robots, expand your Workshop, or acquire Chemicals. The Government allows selling Machine Parts or securing Grants. In the Laboratory, you prepare Experiments and publish Research results, while in the Research and Development area, you make Breakthroughs by building prototypes based on your Research, earning points and rewards. To perform an action, place your Scientist meeple on it and spend required Permits.
Game End
The game ends when one of four conditions is met: a player wins the Nobel Prize, the last Experiment tile is placed on the display, the Government Generator is completed, or all Research fields in the Research and Development Location are occupied. To determine the winner, add points from Grant tracks, 5 points per completed Goal tile, and 5 points for the Nobel Prize. The player with the highest Climate Points best serves the planet and wins!
Upgrade Pack – Saboteurs
Kydarkovia Inc. plans to destroy Lightning Technologies! They sent their two best corporate spies, Agent White and Agent Pink, to steal information and sabotage Lativ’s work. Their mission is to discredit him before the Government and ensure Kydarkovia gets the future weather control contract. Unfortunately, corporate security is too busy cleaning up Lativ’s experimental mess. Therefore, you must finish your work while exposed to interference from vile saboteurs.
