Nothing delights a dwarf’s heart like a shiny, beautiful gold nugget. As a member of this fearless brotherhood, you naturally want to mine as many precious treasures as possible. However, the mine is not only full of seekers but also saboteurs plotting in dark tunnels. Who will gather the greatest wealth?
Saboteur is a simple and engaging bluff card game where players take on the roles of miners searching for gold nuggets in deep tunnels or saboteurs who hinder their work at every step. Members of both groups should support each other but can never be sure who is on their side—the identity of each dwarf is revealed only after the gold is divided. The player with the most gold nuggets after the third round wins.
How does it work?
On your turn, you must play 1 card. This means:
– Adding a corridor card to the labyrinth so it fits the previous ones and continues the path.
– Placing an action card in front of yourself or another player, which can help or hinder them. These include repairing and destroying tools, causing landslides, or using a handy map.
– Passing by discarding 1 face-down card to the discard pile.
Then you draw the top card from the deck to your hand. Your turn ends, and the next player’s turn begins.
Simple? Of course! Play continues until the deck runs out and no player has playable cards left. Miners win the round if they manage to create an uninterrupted corridor from the start card to the goal card showing the treasure. Otherwise, the saboteurs win!
