The PZL P.11c block fighter is carefully designed at 1:32 scale to match the rest of the Historical Collection, with a 34 cm wingspan and 24.5 cm length. The model consists of 320 high-quality pieces, including many blocks with durable prints. Features include a movable propeller, movable ailerons on the wings, option to mount 2 or 4 machine guns, access to the pilot’s cockpit where a figure with double-sided prints can be placed. Notably, the prints with checkerboards on the underside of the wings stand out! The set also includes a block display stand with slots for the pilot and a nameplate. PZL P.11 – Polish fighter plane from the pre-WWII period. Produced in Poland at PZL factories from 1934-1936 and under license at IAR factories in Romania. About 350 planes were made, 200 for Polish aviation. At production start, this single-seat high-wing with radial engine, open cockpit, and fixed landing gear was among the world’s most modern. Unfortunately, at the test, it lagged behind newer German planes. The “Eleven” was the main Polish fighter and symbolizes Polish military aviation from the September campaign.
The block plane features historic paint: number 4 and emblem showing a swallow from the 114th Fighter Squadron IV/1 Fighter Division 1st Air Regiment. The “Eleven” was piloted by 2nd Lt. pilot Tadeusz Sawicz, squadron leader stationed in Poniatów near Warsaw before the war.
