Napoleon’s Expedition to Egypt building blocks 244 pieces
Though Napoleon Bonaparte is mainly associated with European campaigns, his most exotic and fascinating expedition took place far from the Old Continent, on the Nile banks, in the shadow of the pyramids.

With the Campagne d’Égypte 1798-1801 set from COBI, you can now recreate one of the most unexpected episodes in French and Napoleonic history – the Egyptian campaign.

Build a historical diorama from the time when Bonaparte’s army not only fought but also explored, discovered, and documented ancient Egypt’s heritage. Join the explorers of the mysterious Rosetta Stone to relive this extraordinary expedition!

Egyptian expedition: war, science, and archaeology!
In 1798, instead of invading Great Britain, Napoleon unexpectedly headed to Egypt. The campaign had military goals but was accompanied by a scientific mission. French ships carried 167 scholars.

The expedition began with the capture of Alexandria and victory at the famous Battle of the Pyramids. However, the situation worsened when Admiral Nelson’s fleet destroyed Napoleon’s ships at Abukir, cutting off his army from France.

Though a military defeat, the expedition sparked huge European interest in ancient Egypt. The Rosetta Stone was discovered, enabling later deciphering of hieroglyphs and founding modern Egyptology.

The set includes:
– Figure of General Jean-Baptiste Kléber – charismatic commander who took over the Army of the East after Napoleon’s return to France.
– Figure of Lieutenant Pierre-François Bouchard – young French military engineer who discovered the Rosetta Stone on July 15, 1799.
– Figure of a Mameluke – elite Muslim cavalry defending Egypt against French troops, detailed with turban, robe, and traditional saber.
– Model of the Rosetta Stone with unique printed trilingual inscription (hieroglyphs, demotic, Greek).
– Miniature Egyptian landscape diorama over 20 cm long showing a Nile valley section with a date palm, coastal strip with vegetation, and desert panorama.
– Decorative plaque with set name Campagne d’Égypte 1798-1801, adding a professional touch for display.

Set advantages:

– Compact diorama perfect as a toy or part of larger scenes or collector’s displays
