Mikoyan MiG-15 (Russian: -15) is the first mass-produced Soviet jet fighter. It was designated by NATO as Fagot. The production of jet-powered fighters marked a significant quality leap for the USSR industry. Soon, the MiG-15 became an export hit and was adopted by Warsaw Pact countries as well as Asian and African states. These aircraft participated in many conflicts, gaining greatest fame during the Korean War, engaging in aerial battles with the American North American F-86 Sabre.
