Tales of Asgard is an expansion for Marvel United, the cult cooperative card game by Eric Lang (Cthulhu: Death May Die, Bloodborne). It adds three new Heroes from the Marvel comics universe—Thor, Valkyrie, and Korg—and the Villain Loki. Six new Locations transport players to Asgard, and the Traitor Challenge introduces a new gameplay level, adding an Avalon-like traitor mechanic. The expansion can be played standalone or combined with the base game and other expansions.

Loki mischief again!
Asgard, the mystical city, has always guarded the universe. Ruled by wise Odin, it was known for splendor and prosperity. But Odin’s son Loki dreams of power. Being cunning and sly, few can stop him—except Odin’s other son, Thor, and his crew. A good plan, outsmarting the cleverest god, and finding the traitor among heroes are key.

Thor and friends
When Thor wields Mjolnir, no mercy! His hammer card deals three damage to a single enemy in a location. Valkyrie ignores time and space, moving from one Location to any other. Korg can split two Attack points among adjacent Locations or deal two damage in his Location.

Devious Loki
Loki does not activate BAM effects when a Hero is Knocked Out. Instead, he places a face-down card from his Plan on the Storyline, speeding his victory. When Overcrowding occurs, Loki gains one Health point, even exceeding his initial state. Loki’s Threat cards are a major challenge; for example, Illusion prevents Heroes from dealing damage in a Location.

You are the Traitor!
From now on, this phrase becomes common in Marvel United. In the Traitor Challenge, each Hero receives a Loyalty card secretly. One player becomes the Traitor aiming for Loki’s victory. After the second Mission, players simultaneously point to the Traitor. Correct accusers gain an Action token, and the Traitor becomes Loki, controlling his Plan cards.
