Mark I Male NO C.19 Building Blocks 878 Pieces
The Great War initiated the era of steel elephants that continues today. It was then that the design of one of the first tanks was born! MARK I (Male) number C.19 is built from 878 COBI construction blocks. The model measures 28 cm in length. Using a 1:35 modeling scale, the model fits COBI figures and other vehicles released in this size. The tank features working tracked traction, rotating guns, and opening hatches. Markings and emblems are made from colorful bricks and durable prints that do not wear off even with intense use. The set includes a British tank crewman figure from the Great War period and a plaque with the set’s name and The Tank Museum logo, where the original tank that inspired this design is housed.
The British Mark I tank (male version) was produced in 1916 during the Great War. It was one of the first tanks used in military history. The “Male” designation meant it was a variant equipped with a combination of cannons mounted in turrets on the vehicle’s sides and machine guns. Female versions of this tank type were equipped with many machine guns. The vehicle was powered by a gasoline engine allowing speeds up to 4 miles per hour. It was slow and massive, but its armor provided protection against enemy infantry firearms. The Mark I (Male) no C.19 was first used in combat in 1916 during the Battle of the Somme in WWI. Its main purpose was to break enemy fortifications, destroy barbed wire, and support infantry in capturing positions. Although not a perfect combat vehicle, its presence on the battlefield played a significant role in the evolution of warfare strategy. The Mark I tank is a must-have for history and armored weapon enthusiasts and a beautiful model for a Great War collection. Build history, brick by brick!
