Ben is a novice blacksmith at the Waterfall ranch. He always has an anvil, tongs, and hammer at hand. Before lighting the forge fire, he checks and cleans the horses’ hooves. Proper horseshoes and nails are made individually for each animal. His work is not always easy, but he strives to ensure all horses at Waterfall get new horseshoes. His mustang Achilles, tied to the paddock during shoeing, trusts him blindly.
Fun fact: The previous blacksmith at Waterfall, who rarely stayed at the ranch due to age, entrusted Achilles to Ben’s care.
