The rancher’s road never ends
Here is El Paso, called the Sunny City. When five companies brought railway lines here at the end of the 19th century, the place became an important cattle trade center. Ranchers from Texas and Mexico drove herds of cattle to El Paso, which then continued on a long journey north, east, and west across the United States.
Great Western Trail: El Paso is a completely standalone, simplified game based on mechanisms known from the popular cattle rancher trilogy. During gameplay, players take on the role of 19th-century ranchers driving their best animals to El Paso to earn money and victory points.
How does it work?
On your turn, move the rancher along a circular trail that leads back to El Paso. On the trail, perform actions that earn victory points: build buildings, buy cattle on the market, hire workers, etc. Each time your rancher reaches El Paso, you must stop and deliver cattle to the trading post. On the next turn, you set off again.
At the end of the game, sum victory points. The player with the most points wins!
