The West Kingdom Viceroys is another game by Shem Phillips from the popular West Kingdom series, distinguished by medieval themes, intuitive worker placement mechanics, and beautiful graphic design. Viceroys is a standalone base game in the series that does not require components from previous titles.
In West Kingdom Viceroys, each player aims to have the most victory points (VP) at game end. Points are earned by building buildings, copying manuscripts, working in the castle, and incorporating new lands into the fief. Players start with a group of townsfolk but immediately seek people with talents better suited to their plans. Each turn, players travel the kingdom seeking opportunities to increase influence among social classes. The game ends when the kingdom becomes impoverished or prosperous, or both simultaneously!
