Dixit 3: Journeys. Expansion for Dixit or Dixit Odyssey.
Let your imagination run wild again and embark on a search for new associations. With new cards, your Dixit games will be even more exciting. Dixit 3 includes 84 new beautifully illustrated cards in the style of a magical dream. The new illustrator is Clément Lefevre, a renowned French graphic artist and author of children’s and youth books, working with many prestigious publishers. These cards can be combined with all editions and expansions of Dixit. Dixit is an association game whose extraordinary graphic design, simple rules, and unlimited imagination create a new dimension of entertainment. How does it work? Each player becomes the storyteller on their turn. They choose one of their 6 images and invent an association for it. The phrase can be a single word, sound, quote—there are no limits; you can even sing something! Then other players choose from their cards one they think best fits the storyteller’s clue and place it face down on the table. The storyteller shuffles all these cards, including their own, and lays them face up. Players (except the storyteller) secretly vote on which card they think was the storyteller’s. After all votes, points are awarded. If no one guesses the storyteller’s card because the clue was too abstract, the storyteller scores no points, and the other players are rewarded. Similarly, if all votes point to the storyteller’s card, the clue was too simple or literal. In other cases, points are awarded, and if any player votes for your card because they think it fits the clue better, you get bonus points! So play your cards cleverly, trying to mislead others while keeping those with interesting associations and waiting to play them until your turn. Remember, one picture is worth more than a thousand words! The game was created by Jean Louis Roubira, a doctor working in a hospital in Poitiers with young patients facing difficulties at school and beyond. After several Dixit sessions, significant improvements in their expression and social relations were observed. The game can also serve as a pedagogical and therapeutic tool.
