Chess game with wooden pieces

Board game classified as a strategic game.
A chess game is played by two players on a board called a chessboard, consisting of 64 equally sized square fields, alternating light and dark. It is placed between two opponents so that the corner square on the right hand of each player is white. Opponents have sets of pieces in different colors.
