It charges Li-ion 3.6 / 3.7V cells of any capacity in sizes 18650 / 20700 / 21700 / 26650. The intelligent built-in balancer controls charging and discharging, significantly extending cell life. The charger always starts charging the more discharged cell first. After reaching similar charge levels, it charges both batteries simultaneously. The same applies to discharging: it starts discharging the more charged cell, and when levels equalize, it discharges both simultaneously (power bank function).What is the TC/CC/CV charging method? It is a three-stage Li-ion cell charging process ensuring good cell condition by applying appropriate current at each stage and ending charging at the right moment.Stages of TC/CC/CV process:- TC phase: cells discharged below 2.9V are “woken up” with lower current.- CC phase: after reaching 2.9V, the cell is charged with constant current 2x2A / 2x1A / 1x2A.- CV phase: when the cell is nearly charged, the charger switches to charging with decreasing current until reaching 4.2V on the cell. After 4.2V is reached, charging is complete – the battery is fully charged.Batteries with voltage 4.1V or higher are treated as charged by the charger. To top up such a battery fully, insert it into the charger before powering it on. Charged batteries left in the charger undergo natural self-discharge. Charging resumes when voltage drops below 4.1V.The Xtar PB2S charger features reactivation of deeply discharged and 0V cells. Many chargers on the market cannot charge such batteries. The Xtar PB2S charger can often “rescue” such cells. Simply insert the deeply discharged battery into the PB2S charger as usual – the charger detects the discharged cell and attempts reactivation.Note! Cells discharged below a certain voltage suffer irreversible damage, and reactivation may be impossible. Avoid deep discharge of Li-ion batteries as it significantly reduces their durability and capacity or causes total failure.Other manufacturers’ chargers may significantly raise battery temperature during charging. Excessive heating accelerates cell wear. The PB2S charger design addresses this by using external power supply, limiting battery temperature rise to about 15 degrees.In the set with the Xtar PB2S charger, you get a USB TYPE C cable. The power adapter is NOT included. Any USB charger, e.g., from a phone or computer USB port, can power the charger. A QC3.0 / PD3.0 compatible charger is recommended to fully utilize the charger’s capabilities.
