The device uses strong brass piezoelectric speakers additionally protected by a grille. Brass piezoelectric speakers are highly resistant to engine compartment conditions such as low/high temperatures and moisture. They are also resistant to accidental splashes of oil or other fluids. Common black membrane speakers used in other devices are structurally vulnerable and may cause short circuits. Lack of protective grilles exposes equipment to mechanical damage during car servicing or repairs.
