Welcome to Avel: a world with dozens of moons hanging in its sky. These magical celestial bodies, said to be inhabited by gods, bestow magical gifts on inhabitants. Thanks to them, wizards weave magic, druids help farmers care for crops, and children play in aerial streams. But now there’s no time for that, as Kurodar, the Black Moon, approaches Avel, and his sinister magic awakens evil forces. Dangerous creatures have always lurked in forests, caves, and dark places, but now they have emerged en masse, their hateful gaze fixed on the castle. It’s up to you to save the land from their destructive plans!
Chronicles of Avel Castle is a cooperative board game for the whole family, where players become heroes responsible for saving the magical land. During gameplay, you create unique characters with special equipment and explore the world on a modular board. Along the way, you face dangers requiring combat, earning rewards like new weapons, armor, potions, and gold. These help prepare for the final battle against the Monster threatening Avel’s kingdom.
How it works:
Each game starts with character creation. You can color and decorate a universal hero illustration, create a unique emblem, and choose a heroic name! When all players are ready, the adventure begins.
The goal is to explore the land, fight monsters, and develop your character to prepare for the final battle with the Monster appearing after a set number of rounds. Avel is cooperative, meaning all players work as a team, and one’s success is the group’s success.
The game consists of rounds where players take turns. Actions include moving on the board, using special actions of visited places, resting, or fighting monsters by rolling dice and using equipment. This way, you gain new items helpful in future challenges. Every action affects the team’s situation and strategy.
After a set number of rounds, the Monster appears. From then on, your main goal is to defeat it and its minions before they reach the castle.
