ASR series antennas come with a built-in PAD type preamplifier. Purchasing a new one is only necessary if the original is damaged. The PAD-820 preamplifier is intended for use exclusively with ASR antennas. The device is powered via the coaxial cable from the output side. Due to the wide range of allowable supply voltages 5-12V, the amplifier can be powered directly from a tuner or TV (these devices must be capable of supplying DC 5V), or via an external power separator (with power supply) type ZZA-7.
