Exiles return from the ocean depths!
Centuries ago, a secret society of powerful lords attempted a failed coup. Many were sentenced to torture, but only ten survived encounters with moray eels. Stripped of lord titles and exiled forever from the Abyss, they found refuge in the ocean’s deepest depths. No one knows how they survived and prolonged their lives in such dreadful conditions. Perhaps over time they adapted, drawing strength from deep-sea monsters. Now the exiles—former lords dwelling in the depths—return to reclaim what once belonged to them.
Abyss: De profundis is an expansion introducing 10 exile cards with interesting effects. They are not lords in the sense that the term “lord” on cards and tiles does not apply to them, but like lords, they appear in the courtyard ready for recruitment and count toward the game’s end condition. Additionally, recruiting them offers chances to displace other players’ spots, adding extra interaction.
What is Abyss?
It’s a strategic game where players seek control over key areas of an underwater city. To achieve this, you must gradually develop. Initially, gather allies from five allied races represented by cards in different colors. Obtaining the right combination allows recruiting lords—powerful guild representatives with special abilities. They grant access to more city areas, increasing victory points.
