The F15B decoder enables reception of all audio standards broadcast in Poland, including NICAM stereo. The decoder digitally processes the received signal, resulting in very good sound quality. After installing the decoder in the TV receiver, it takes over all audio path functions except volume, tone, and balance control. The decoder is designed to operate in two basic configurations:

Configuration I is intended for stereo receivers using the internal amplifier and speakers of the receiver. All original receiver functions are preserved.

Configuration II is intended for mono receivers and requires cooperation with external stereo AUDIO equipment. Sound parameter adjustment is done via the external amplifier.

The decoder automatically recognizes the received audio standard and can indicate its type (mono, stereo, two sounds). To facilitate connection to various TV receivers, several additional equipment boards have been designed. Using these boards, the decoder can be connected to most stereo or mono TV receivers. The F15B decoder can also be installed in stereo A2 system VCRs, expanding their capabilities to include NICAM reception.

or video intermediate frequency signal (IF) from the TV receiver tuner output, using additional P17 amplifier board
– Audio output signal: typically 0.7V rms
