When the gold seekers descended into the mine, suddenly the lantern went out, and the entire tunnel plunged into darkness. It must have been sabotage! It seems someone in the group is plotting against the others. Will the seekers find the gold in time? Or will the saboteur win by misleading the others?
Saboteur: Extended Edition is a special release of the cult gold nugget searching game. It contains the full exciting base game, where players take on the roles of miners exploring deep tunnels or saboteurs who hinder their work at every step. Additionally, the box includes the Saboteur 2 expansion, which introduces new corridor and action cards, allows team play, and invites up to 12 players to bluff together!
How does it work?
In the base game, on your turn you must play 1 card. This means:
– Adding a corridor card to the labyrinth so it fits the previous ones and continues the path.
– Placing an action card in front of yourself or another player, which can help or hinder them. These include repairing and destroying tools, causing landslides, or using a handy map.
– Passing by discarding 1 face-down card to the discard pile.
Then you draw the top card from the deck to your hand. Your turn ends, and the next player’s turn begins.
Simple? Of course! Play continues until the deck runs out and no player has playable cards left. Miners win the round if they manage to create an uninterrupted corridor from the start card to the goal card showing the treasure. Otherwise, the saboteurs win!
The included Saboteur 2 expansion introduces cards that slightly change gameplay and rules. The main goal remains the same: the player who collects the most gold nuggets wins!
