Roman watchtower – the eyes and guard of the empire!
A tall wooden structure was the first defense line. A vigilant guard watched for enemies on the horizon, ready to raise the alarm.

Such towers were integral to Roman military camps (castrum). The sturdy building towered over the palisade, giving legionaries terrain advantage.

The set includes:
– Three realistic figures: Roman legionary in full gear (pilum spear, scutum shield, galea helmet, gladius sword) and two Gallic warriors armed with axe, sword, and shield, signaling approaching danger.
– Detailed diorama: tower and section of high, dug-in palisade, greenery elements, supply barrel, and legion standard with Aquila eagle emblem. The construction allows placing figures on the tower or stairs leading to defensive walls. Ladders connect tower levels realistically.
– High-quality prints and details: realistic decorations enabling use in military scenes or daily camp life. The legion standard with SPQR emblem is a valuable addition for IMPERIUM ROMANUM fans.

Build your own Roman fort!
The watchtower is part of a modular set you can combine with other Imperium Romanum series elements. Add two gates (#20077), another tower (#20076), and two legionary tents (#20078) to build a basic camp.

Other configurations are possible, e.g., four towers and four gates. Instructions allow choosing right or left palisade corner to fit your camp layout.

To create a realistic Roman fort, place towers at corners and gates opposite each other. Connect elements to replicate the historical rectangular castrum layout. Place two tent sets inside for a complete modular model.
