PRL FSO POLONEZ TAXI – Beige
The history of Polonez begins at the end of 1972. Plans were made to introduce a successor to the 125p model. In 1974, an agreement was signed between Pol-Mot and the Italian FIAT group entrusting design work to the Italian side. In the same year, design work began at Fiat’s Centro Stile. The first prototypes of the car, designated 125PN (Polacco Nuova – Polish New), were created in 1975.
The name was chosen by a poll of “Życie Warszawy” readers in 1978. The new hatchback body featured modern aesthetics and a high level of safety for the time.
