The Panzerjäger Tiger (P) Ferdinand was a German heavy tank destroyer used during WWII. Built on the Tiger I chassis, production started in 1943. Ferdinands fought on the Eastern Front, including the Battle of Kursk. Armed with the powerful 88 mm PaK 43/2 L/71 anti-tank gun, they were effective against nearly all enemy vehicles. Thick armor provided good protection. Despite impressive stats, Ferdinands had drawbacks such as limited mobility and mechanical failures. After Kursk, many were upgraded and used in later war phases. The Ferdinand was one of the most powerful German vehicles in WWII, though its role was limited due to low production. It remains a fascination for history and military tech fans and is one of the most recognizable WWII vehicles. Build history, brick by brick!
