The crunch of crampons biting ice. A tired hand driving an ice axe into a snowy wall. Heavy breathing as you strain to move half a meter higher. Only 100… 50 meters separate you from K2’s summit, one of the toughest 8000-meter peaks. Standing in blinding sun, you look down at your tent. But to reach it, you must cross a raging blizzard on the hardest section. Can you make it?
In K2, each player controls a team of two climbers competing to reach the summit and survive an 18-day expedition.
How it works:
Players move climbers on the board using cards played each round. The higher a climber ascends, the more victory points they earn. However, at higher altitudes, acclimatization is critical. If it falls below 1, the exhausted climber dies, and the player loses their points. Choosing the right route, placing tents optimally, and monitoring weather, which significantly affects climbing difficulty, are vital.
